Hunter Biden published more details about the tokenomics for his LAPTOP memecoin in a post on X on Tuesday, a day before the token is scheduled to deploy on Base, Coinbase’s layer 2 network. The design hands roughly a third of the supply over to real world outcomes.
Of the 1 billion total supply, 30% is tied to 30 public predictions, many of them tracking markets on Polymarket, according to the token’s website. The list includes whether President Donald Trump is impeached during his term and whether Democrats win the House or Senate in 2026. If an event resolves yes, the associated slice of tokens is burned. If it resolves no, those tokens are sent to charity instead. A further 50 million tokens are pledged to charity regardless of outcome.

Investors reading the allocation table will find the familiar parts less novel. 30% goes to founders including Biden, subject to a six-month lock-up followed by a 24-month vest, per the project’s disclosure document. Another 10% covers liquidity and 5% funds the treasury of the Phoenix Veritas Foundation, which issues and operates the token.
The airdrop is engineered as a rebuke of Trump’s token. 20% of supply is reserved for the community, with 10% claimable at the token generation event through a Phoenix Veritas portal and 10% distributed later at the foundation’s discretion. Subscribers to Biden’s “Where’s Hunter?” Substack receive 8%, and wallets that took losses on TRUMP receive 2%. Biden cited Nansen findings that about two thirds of the 1.48 million wallets that had bought TRUMP were underwater, carrying combined losses of $3.81 billion. Biden used his post to argue Trump had broken trust in everything he touched.
Biden framed the token as a reclamation of his narrative after the contents of a laptop he left at a Delaware repair shop in 2019 became a central controversy of the 2020 election and later supplied evidence in the 2024 trial that ended in his conviction on federal firearm charges. He also disclaimed any responsibility for the price, writing that buyers “should not expect me or anyone else to make this token more valuable.” Biden confirmed the launch date on Monday, and dozens of copycat tokens have since appeared across Base, Robinhood Chain, and Solana.
