Arcus, the Robinhood Chain exchange developed by the team that built dYdX, has opened Multi-Asset Collateral to every trader with access to its perpetual futures, removing the trading-volume requirement that had limited the feature since October. The company announced the change on Thursday.
As in early access, Arcus caps deposits of assets other than USDG at $20,000 per user and $2 million across the platform. Each account can borrow at most $10,000, according to Arcus’s public lending data, and the exchange rejects orders that would push a loan past that limit. By Unchained’s math, 100 traders depositing the $20,000 maximum would fill the platform-wide cap.
Traders can now back perps positions with ether, held as wrapped ether (WETH), and nine stock tokens alongside USDG, which most Arcus traders had needed for perps margin until now. The stock tokens are SPY, QQQ, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, Nvidia, Meta and Tesla, the last seven of which the press release groups as “MAG7.” Each asset carries a 50% initial loan-to-value ratio.

Early Access Began Oct. 19
Arcus started rolling out the feature on Oct. 19 to accounts with more than $25 million in trading volume on the exchange, with the same assets and the same 50% ratio. Other traders do not need to switch anything on, according to Thursday’s post.
How the Loans Work
The borrowing is automatic: once tokens sit in the perps account, any margin or losses the trader’s USDG doesn’t cover become a variable-rate loan that shrinks as the margin need falls. That rate was 4.94% a year on Thursday, according to Arcus’s public lending feed. If falling token prices or a growing loan push the account past a maintenance level set for each asset, or the loan exceeds the per-account cap, Arcus can liquidate it, closing perps positions, selling the tokens, or both.
“Spot positions and perpetuals positions shouldn’t have to operate in separate silos,” founder and CEO Eddie Zhang said in the press release. He said the feature lets traders put stock token value to work “whether they’re looking to maintain an existing position, put on a new trade or hedge their exposure.”
Arcus, in which Robinhood Crypto is a strategic investor, is not available in the U.S., Canada or the U.K. The exchange launched leveraged stock and crypto tokens in August, and Robinhood Wallet began routing stock token trades through it on Oct. 1.
