Robinhood plans to let eligible U.S. customers trade crypto perpetual futures in its app with up to 10x leverage, part of a batch of trading products the company unveiled on Tuesday night at its HOOD Summit in Houston.

“Robinhood is bringing America its first true perps,” CEO Vlad Tenev wrote on X, adding that profit and loss would settle every 15 minutes.

The perps will be offered by Robinhood Derivatives through Bitstamp over the next few months. Traders will be able to go long or short, with no expiry date, on BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK and HYPE. Bitcoin and ether perps carry up to 10x leverage, and the other six are capped at 3x. Through year-end, Robinhood said it will charge one basis point (0.01%) on each trade.

The plan follows a late-May move by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) that cleared the way for Kalshi to list a bitcoin perpetual and for Coinbase to route U.S. clients to perps listed by its Bermuda affiliate.

AI Agents Move Into the App

Robinhood Agents, which Robinhood said is coming soon, will let customers build an AI agent inside the app with no technical setup. Users will open a dedicated agentic account, pick a model from AI labs including OpenAI, and let the agent research markets, draft strategies and place trades.

The agent will only be able to use money in its own account, and manual approval of each trade will be on by default, though customers can turn it off. A coming feature called Loops will turn a strategy into standing instructions the agent runs around the clock. Agent Apps will sell outside data from 11 providers, including Nasdaq and Token Terminal.

Robinhood first let customers connect outside AI agents in May and extended agentic accounts to crypto in July. More than 150,000 customers have since opened agentic trading accounts, and agents now tap Robinhood’s tools almost 30 million times a day, the company said.

“Whether you’re an expert or are just getting started with AI, you’re at a disadvantage if you’re not using Robinhood,” said Abhishek Fatehpuria, Robinhood’s vice president of product management.

Stocks on Weekends

Robinhood also plans 24/7 trading for a curated list of U.S. stocks and ETFs through the alternative trading system Bruce ATS. The company said the feature is coming early next year, pending regulatory review. That extends Robinhood’s 24 Hour Market, which launched in 2023 and runs from Sunday at 8 p.m. ET to Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

It is also adding earnings contracts from Cboe to its prediction markets hub, binary options on company metrics such as earnings beats.

“We’re making Robinhood the best place in the world for active traders by delivering tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms,” Tenev said.
