Jesse Pollak, the creator of popular new layer 2 blockchain network Base and Coinbase’s head of protocols, said in an interview with Unchained at ETHDenver that social applications such as Farcaster and Friend.tech are a “huge part” of the endgame for Base.
“Our perspective is that onchain social is going to be a massive, massive transformation where we’re going to have all of the incredible product experiences and connected experiences that have come from social in the last 20 years,” said Pollak.
Pollak also discussed Base’s “north star” of getting to a million builders and a billion users, why Base makes sense as the place to build onchain social apps, and the philosophy and culture behind Base.
